    About Us

    The Society on Sarcopenia, Cachexia and Wasting Disorders (SCWD), is executing a multi-phase global educational needs assessment on anorexia of ageing. This assessment-based project will have a focus on the USA, Europe, Latin America and Japan.

    The goal of this project is to conduct a global interprofessional educational assessment of the educational needs and professional practice gaps within individual healthcare professions and the interprofessional teams involved in recognizing, diagnosing, and managing patients with anorexia of ageing.

    Using a mixed methods approach, this research project involves a series of virtual meetings with healthcare professionals with experience in the field of anorexia of ageing and an online survey aimed at assessing the educational needs of practising clinicians. This online questionnaire with 25 questions will investigate the specific needs of the various medical specialties.
